Over the semester, your class will be conducting three different research-based assignments.
At the top of this page, there are tabs for each of the three assignments you will need to conduct. Each tab will include information on how to conduct the research you need for that assignment with short videos that discuss specific library resources that are excellent fits for the research that you are going to perform.
On the left-hand side of the screen, there are additional pages that offer additional useful information that will be relevant throughout the semester.
Once you have completed all of the assignments, please take a moment to complete the Survey linked on the left-hand side of the screen.
Each assignment will introduce you to a new library database that you can use for that assignment, but please remember that the previous databases may also provide excellent information for your research project.

Annotated Bibliography Guidelines
In this assignment you will be conducting research to write an Op-Ed article.
You will be required to locate two articles from Estrella Mountain library databases. This LibGuide will provide information about the types of sources you will be locating, search tips to find articles, and information on using two databases that are excellent fits for your paper.
After you locate your articles, this LibGuide will also provide information on using the CRAAP test to evaluate potential sources and a citation guide so that you can properly cite your sources using the MLA Citation style

This database is a broad database that covers a wide range of topics. This wide coverage allows you to be creative in your research to narrow down the scope of your topic and find something that interests you.
Viewpoint Articles
Remember that the Viewpoint and Featured Viewpoint articles provide the Pro's and Cons for the argument that you are investigating.
When you are finding your articles, try and find articles that represent both sides of an argument so that you can fully discuss and explain the issue that you are researching!

In this assignment you will be conducting research on a selected social justice or justice issue.
You will be required to locate three articles from Estrella Mountain library databases. This section of the LibGuide will provide information about the types of sources you will be locating, search tips to find articles, and information on using a new databases that is an excellent fit for your paper.

This is database that covers hot or controversial news topics that will focus on many social justice or justice issues that may interest you. It has an extensive list of potential topics under Browse Issues that might help you find a topic that interests you and within those topics it has a wide range of related sources to investigate.

After you locate your articles, this LibGuide will also provide information on using the CRAAP test to evaluate potential sources and a citation guide so that you can properly cite your sources using the MLA Citation style.
